Video: St. Vincent Plays Letterman - “Cruel”
Annie Clark and her band returned to the Late Show tonight, unveiling how “Cruel” — last week’s official video-donning Strange Mercy preview — translates to the live stage. Setting aside the dark comedic tone of the clip (in which clark gets buried alive and stuffed in a trunk, etc.), St. Vincent & co. showed up decked out in dark evening wear for a take that’s impressively faithful to the record.
